About LOTTO 6aus49
The premier German lottery game, LOTTO 6aus49, is the nation’s favourite and one of the longest-running European lottery games. The draws take place every Wednesday and Saturday evening and players also have the choice to add the extra games Spiel 77 and Super 6 which help to increase chances of winning cash prizes.
History of LOTTO 6aus49
LOTTO 6aus49 was launched successfully in October 1955 and is now one of the nation’s biggest and longest-running lottery games, managed by the Deutscher Lotto-und Totoblock (DLTB) group.
The draws were originally held once a week on Saturdays but due to the popularity, in 1982, they introduced another draw on Wednesday. A few years later in June 1986, another change was made to the matrix of the game drawing originally 7/38 to drawing 6/49. The Superzahl was added in May 2013 which massively increased the odds of winning a prize from 1 in 54 to 1 in 31.
How to play LOTTO 6aus49
To start playing LOTTO 6aus49, all you need to do is pick 6 main numbers from 1 to 49 plus an additional number, known as the Superzahl, from 0 to 9. Therefore, to win the jackpot, a player must match all 6 main numbers and the bonus ball, but if no one wins the top prize then this will continue to roll over to the following draw until it has been won.
However, there are plenty more prizes to be won in the lower tiers simply by matching as few as 2 main numbers and the Superzahl.

Charities LOTTO 6aus49 Supports
Along with the 16 other state lotteries, managed by DLTB, the German Lottery – LOTTO 6aus49 – raises funds through the ticket sales each week to go towards causes related to Youth-culture and Education. This money is easily and efficiently distributed to the regional beneficiaries and state lotteries such as North-Rhine Westphalia has contributed over €23.5 billion since 1955 to help fund social and cultural projects.
* Spiel 77
Spiel 77 is an additional game you can choose to play alongside the main LOTTO 6aus49 lottery. A random 7-digit number is generated on the main lottery ticket and in order to win big cash prizes, players would have to match some or all of the numbers in order. The Spiel 77 jackpot is a minimum of €177,777 and will increase in value if no one matches the numbers drawn in their exact order.
* Super 6
Super 6 is also an additional game, similar to Spiel 77, in which you play alongside LOTTO 6aus49. It uses the same 7-digit number generated for Spiel 77 but the first number is disregarded so players only need to match 6 numbers. To win a cash prize you need to match at least the final number to win €2.50 and then match all 6 in order to grab yourself a big €100,000 prize.
